John has been an early stage Silicon Valley VC for over two decades. He and Kanwal co-founded Inventus 15 years ago to lead Seed investments when few focused on it. Prior to Inventus, John co-invested with Kanwal in a number of companies, including early financings of Manu’s first startup as well as both Raju and BV's successful startups Sierra Atlantic (ACQ: Hitachi) and Exodus (IPO:NASDAQ).

 

 At Inventus, John is currently on the boards of Asimily, Credit Sesame, Dresma, InspectHOA, Motivo.ai, Orbion, Resilinc, and SysCloud. He actively supported or was on the Boards of Vivu (ACQ: Polycom), Dhingana (ACQ: Rdio), FarFaria (ACQ: JumpStart), Poshmark (IPO: NASDAQ), Spotzot (ACQ: Valassis), and Sokrati (ACQ: Dentsu). Prior to venture, John worked in the product groups of category-leading Silicon Valley companies including Sun Microsystems and SGI/Silicon Graphics.

A San Francisco native, John earned both an MBA and BA from U.C. Berkeley, and is a Charter Member of TiE.
